You would probably expect to shed a few tears on National Onion Day given that the veggie can be quite the tearjerker. But during this year's holiday, you're more likely to cry tears of joy thanks to a freebie from Outback Steakhouse.

The restaurant is getting in on the National Onion Day spirit by offering a free Bloomin' Onion to customers who purchase an entree. All you have to do to receive the appetizer is stop by Outback Steakhouse on Tuesday, June 27, and mention "National Onion Day" to your server.

"Everyone can agree there’s only one place to be on National Onion Day! Outback Steakhouse is celebrating the special occasion all day on June 27 by giving guests the gift of its often-imitated-never-duplicated appetizer enjoyed by over 8 million guests every," read a release from Outback Steakhouse.

There's a maximum of one free Bloomin' Onion per table, and unfortunately, the offer isn't available in Mississippi, Tennessee, or airport locations.

A fan favorite at Outback, the Bloomin' Onion dates all the way back to 1988. It's made using an extra-large onion that's been cut into 200 petals and then breaded and deep-fried. The dish is served with the restaurant's spicy signature bloom sauce.

If for some reason you can't make it to Outback Steakhouse on Tuesday, you can still celebrate National Onion Day by making your own Bloomin' Onion at home.
