Chicken dinners are our go-to when we’re craving something fast, easy, and delicious on busy weeknights. When we’re in need of something simple but oh so satisfying, this lemon pepper chicken is hard to resist. Chicken breasts are seasoned with layers of bright and fresh flavors (like lemon pepper!), and served with an irresistible sauce perfect for scooping over everything, from mashed potatoes to veggie sides. Read on for everything you need to know to make this weeknight dinner winner:
The chicken.
For this recipe, we went with chicken breasts. We know—they can have a reputation for being boring. That’s why we made sure that these chicken breasts were anything but. Seasoned with lemon pepper seasoning and cooked in a garlicky butter and broth mixture, the chicken not only turns out extremely flavorful, but is also perfectly tender.
How to make lemon pepper chicken:
This recipe starts on the stovetop for a perfect golden sear, then finishes in the oven for the juiciest, most flavorful result. If you don't want to turn on your oven, you can do everything over the stovetop. After you add the sauce ingredients, reduce heat to medium, and cook for about another 3 minutes until the sauce is a perfectly silky consistency.
Serving ideas.
The options are endless when it comes to side dish pairings for this chicken dinner. Serve it up with some creamy orzo, roasted asparagus, or air fryer green beans. Want to fire up the grill? Any of our grilled veggies would round out this summer dinner perfectly.
