Wine lovers will absolutely love these margarita slushies because of the tasty addition of sweet moscato. Simply combine all ingredients, and blend 'em up! You can make this as frozen or as loose as you want, based on how much ice you use. We love garnishing these with blueberries in the summer (particularly to keep with the bright blue theme), but use whatever fruit you like.
The bright hue of this drink is achieved with blue curaçao, an orange liqueur that was created on the island of Curaçao in the Caribbean. The sun-dried peel of a Valencia orange gone bitter in the Caribbean climate was used in distilling this citrusy drink, and fun fact—it wasn't originally blue. In the early 1900's, the Bols distilling company added blue food coloring to the drink to add some alchemical mystery, and the bright blue cocktail ingredient we know and love today was born.
Blue curaçao was originally marketed as Crème de Ciel, or cream of the sky: Whether it comes from the sky or your fully stocked bar, we're sure you're going to fall in love with this beautiful frozen drink.
