If you've been to a fancy cocktail bar, it's likely your drink has been presented with a super fancy shmancy spherical ice ball at least once. Not only do they look great, spherical ice is more slow-melting, meaning way less dilution in your drink - a big reason why bartenders love them.

This works because a sphere shape exposes less surface area for the same amount of volume as a cube of ice, meaning the ice will melt more slowly and stave off dilution.

For home-bar cocktail aficionados, globe ice is usually achieved with a round ice mould, but thanks to M&S you can now buy these bad boys pre-made. The cocktail life-savers launched last December, and they're now BACK for summer. They're perfect if you don't have the fridge space but want to create a cocktail with a little wow factor.

First spotted by @newfoodsuk on Instagram, people in the comments were verryyy excited about the launch.

But before you go chucking your new found favourite cocktail accessory into any old drink, spherical ice only works for drinks that really rely on less dilution. For example, stick to crushed ice for spirit-heavy drinks that work really well with a slushie-like texture - take Mojitos, Brambles and Daiquiris. Whilst "long" cocktails like Long Island Ice Tea and straight up cocktails like martinis wouldn't work because of the shape and style of glass they use.

Instead, spherical ice is perfect in a spirit-forward sippers that really need slow-diluting ice, like Negronis, Sours and whisky on the rocks.
