We here at Delish think it is high time that everyone start drinking more beer cocktails. For some folks the thought of mixing beer with other ingredients is kinda strange but we know that it creates some of the most refreshing results.
And, Iof you've never had a michelada, you're in for a treat. The addition of hot sauce and lime juice add a spicy/sour kick that takes your average light beer from good to great. Thanks to our secret ingredient (soy sauce!) there's also a hint of umami flavor that keeps you coming back for more. If you want to kick the umami up even further, add a splash of Clamato juice, which is typical in Mexico, where the drink originated!
Our favorite part about this drink, though, is the chili rim on the edge of the glass. It gives that extra spicy kick that we love about the drink. You could even use Tajín if you have it in your kitchen. Pair your michelada with a loaded fish tacos, we can't think of a better warm weather meal.
